Application For Funding For Individuals

GUIDANCE NOTES

Object/Aim

To help the young people of Portsmouth and its immediate surrounds who are under 25, achieve their full potential in any field of endeavour, to help and educate so as to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities.

When completing the application form please consider the following: Community & Voluntary Work

Trustees are keen to encourage young people who are planning to undertake voluntary work, either here or abroad. Please specify how your project will be of benefit not only to yourself but also to the wider community.

For overseas trips the trustees wish to know whether you will have the opportunity to study different cultures and develop social and language skills.

Individuals

Please indicate how your project will help you fulfil your personal potential in your chosen field.

Fund Raising

The trustees want to see that the applicant has gone to the effort of organising events to raise funds. Grants will not normally be available for the full cost of a project.

Group Activities

Please indicate how many participants there are and how the group is working together in preparation for the project. How will they benefit from their experiences?

Equipment

Are there any items of equipment or tools which could be purchased by the Trust? Please provide a list of items and costs. These would usually be provided instead of making a general grant for a project. Items may reflect the patronage of the Bentley Young Persons Trust by means of a suitable plaque/label/inscription.

Reporting Back

A condition on receiving a grant is that you make a report back to the trustees on completion of the project. This report may be used to publicise the work of the trust.
